Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was the youngest of the children of singer Dionne Warswick and gospel music star Cissy Houston. Whitney Elizabeth Houston grew up in a family that was musical. Her mother and she began singing professionally at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the year Whitney was just 15 years old. The two sang backing vocals for Chaka Khans 1978 track Im Every Woman. Later, she provided backing vocals to Jermaine Jackson and Lou Rawls and her mother. The high quality of her performance as the lead vocalist in New York funk group Material attracted the attention of several big record companies, like Arista who she was signed in 1982, and continued to work for the remainder of her life with them. The debut Whitney Houston album was released in the year 1985. It became one of the top-selling albums of an artist. The album All My Love was released in 1985 and became a number one smash. Album sold in US 3,000,000 copies and then went to 25,000,000 world-wide. The album brought her first of the six Grammy Awards she has won. The Whitney follow-up in 1987 with the singles How Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to further build upon the success of her first album. But it was, the 1992 movie The Bodyguard that solidified her standing as one of the most well-known artist. The movie and her role as a character was not appreciated, but the soundtrack and her rendition of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You were charting for months on the charts and she sold nearly 44 million albums and singles all over the world. Also in 1993 that she married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition singer and father of her only child Bobbi Kristina Brown. Her daily use of drugs was documented.
Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American reporter anchorwoman as well as political correspondent for CNN. The shows she hosts on weekends are Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash received a Women in Washington Power List honor in Elle magazine. Her remarkable anchoring and reportage capabilities are well-respected by numerous journalists. This George Washington University grad is an incredibly loving mother of her single child.
