Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinct blend with soul-jazz R&B as well as R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her professional career playing the piano and singing in church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single with her voice on it, Stalk You A House 12, came out only in Japan. It's been remixed many times, and has become a staple of her live shows. She also lent her voice on the soundtrack to The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's production Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the director of choral for this theatrical production. Sunshine was brought to the attention of the nation during 4 performances per day during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
